What's smart copy mode?

Smart copy mode is a new copy trading mode that lets you automatically sync your asset allocation for each position with the trader. When a trader opens a position, a ratio between their copy trading account balance and position margin is calculated. This is then applied to your total investment to calculate your copy trade position margin. You’ll also copy other settings, such as leverage and margin mode.

Example: A trader has a 10,000 USDT balance in his copy trading account, and opens a long BTCUSDT perpetual position with 1,000 USDT at 5x leverage. Their position investment accounts for 10% of his balance. Your copy trade investment is 1,000 USDT, which means that you invest 1,000 USDT × 10% = 100 UDST to open a long BTCUSDT perpetual position at 5x leverage. To copy trade with smart copy mode, all you need to do is set your total investment. You don’t need to configure any other settings for your copy trade, and management of risk and profit is left to the trader, letting you more efficiently get returns from your copy trades.

Copy with one click: just set a total investment and start copy trading. You don’t need to set any other settings.
Invest smarter and align risk: your asset allocation for positions, leverage, and margin mode are synced with the lead trader, letting them help you better control risk and manage PnL.

How do I create smart copy mode copy trades?

Find a trader you are interested in and click Copy on his profile page.
Select Smart copy mode.

Set up your copy trade

Total investment: Set aside funds to be exclusively used for your copy trade (10 - 50,000 USDT). The funds will be automatically transferred from your Futures Account to your Copy Trading Account.
Note: If you have positions in your Futures Account, please take care of the liquidation risk of your positions.
Copy immediately: if you turn on Copy immediately, you’ll immediately copy any ongoing open positions the trader already has at market price and in proportion to the trader’s fund allocation. If you turn this off, you’ll only copy new positions the trader opens.
Note: view the trader’s ongoing positions on their profile to help decide whether or not you want to use this feature.
Margin mode & leverage: You can set up margin mode and leverage that you'd like to copy. We highly recommend you choose the "Copy trader's margin mode" and "Copy trader's leverage".
TP & SL: This setting lets you define your TP&SL of all your copies. We highly recommend you don't setup this.

Select Copy and confirm the copy trade details to finish your trade setup.

How do I view trade details and edit my settings?

Go to the Copy Trading homepage and go to My Copy Trading. You can view details and copy trading PnL for the lead trader’s ongoing and historical positions.
Under Copy Trades, you can find the trader whose copy trade settings you want to edit. Select Settings to go to the copy trade settings page.
You can also adjust the balance you are copying by clicking the "Adjust Investment".

FAQ

1. I’m already copying a trader. Can I change these copy trades into smart copy trades?
We currently don’t support switching copy mode for existing trades. Instead, you can close all copied trades, and copy them again using smart copy mode.

2. How can I get all my funds out of my copy trading account?
All your funds will be automatically transferred out if you no longer copy the trader, and all the copied trades are closed.

When you uncopy a trader, you can choose if you want to close all positions immediately. If you choose yes, all your positions will be closed immediately and your funds will be transferred to your futures account. And if you choose not, your positions will be closed when your trader closes his position or you can close your positions manually.

3. Why is my leverage and margin different to the lead trader’s?
When using "copy trader's margin mode" and "copy trader's leverage", our system will automatically adjust your leverage and margin when the lead trader does.
